Closing as fix released.
The problem is not present in solaar in o-series according to upstream.
o-series has upstream version 1.1.13 which does not have this problem.
Granted, this leaves noble being affected, but it's clearly wontfix in
the LTS. The required hid_parser package is not available and won't be
introduced in an LTS. The problem is not widespread, does not cause
severe issues and is very easy to fix temporarily and permanently in a
number of ways.
- take the receiver out and plug it back in after solaar was started
- install hid_parser with pip3
- the solaar team has a PPA and publishes an unaffected noble package
