Hi, thanks for sub'ing me to the report. My PPA's are for testing purposes only and should not be installed on a production system!! I'm quite shocked that an article such as this is recommending installing it from a PPA.
When the KF5 port of kdeconnect was released, to keep them separated, the Kubuntu team decided to use new packaging called kdeconnect-plasma. However, upstream (KDE) did not follow this suggestion and continued releasing as kdeconnect. Debian then, only recently, used the old packaging for the KF5 port and we (Kubuntu) want to follow this path. The package does indeed need some replaces/breaks as you suggest. I was working on it to try and get it into Yakkety, but due to other commitments was not able to finish it. If you want to use the one in my PPA you will need to remove kdeconnect-plasma manually and then install it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1635758 Title: package kdeconnect-plasma (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop', which is also in package kdeconnect 1.0.1-0ubuntu1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdeconnect-plasma/+bug/1635758/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
