I think that it has nothing to do with the installation procedure!! I've got this problem in my both laptop and desktop pcs since ubuntu 10.10 clean installation....
I was running dual boot in both laptop and desktop pcs (ubuntu and windows 7, windows installed first)... On my laptop I 've reinstalled ubuntu as the only operating system (so no more windows) and the problem was gone... For the installation I 've followed the same steps as technomage explains above and since then I don't have any problem... The first thought was if there is something with dualbooting ubuntu and windows 7... Is there anyone else with dual boot and this problem? P.S. On my desktop pc both operating systems where installed in separated disks, on my laptop they where installed on the same disk but in different partitions. -- On boot keeps trying to mount "UDEVD-WORK..../dev/null" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575333 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
