confirmed just now I removed the php4-apc package and restarted
apache, the behavior is still there(in firefox at least).

I am not getting a white page, what I see is equivilent to right clicking
on a folder and telling it to open in a new tab or new window(with
what is in the new window is what I am seeing when I try to open
a folder other than inbox). I have another user on my system that
sees the same behavior on their system(running IE 6.0 from the looks
of my log)

as for php error config already closely matches your
suggestion(default configuration):

error_reporting  =  E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE
display_errors = On

I changed it so it is only E_ALL and restarted apache and I do
not see any additional messages. The frame dissapearing is occuring
100% of the time on firefox at the moment with SM 1.4.6.

still no errors in the error log for apache either.

thanks

nate
