my expectations are that when I click on a folder in the folder
frame that the folder will open in target=right and the folder
frame will be maintained(target=left). this is how SM has
operated since I started using it 6 years ago. And I believe
it is the intended operation.

I haven't been able to reproduce the behavior yet today but
what I had been seeing is:

- login to SM
- by default it loads the INBOX folder in the right frame
- click on any other folder in the folder frame, the folder
opens in the right frame, but it opens in a way that makes
the left frame go away(no longer visible at all, the right
frame consumes the entire browser window/tab)

After initially logging into SM, if I click on any of the
options at the top (Folders, Options, Compose etc) it loads
in the right frame and maintains the left frame. I had
another user on my system report the same behavior as well.
(I only have about 4 user accounts on the system, all of
them very non technical I think just the one has tried it).

I don't know what is causing it, I've been using SM forever
on a variety of machines and browsers and have never seen
this behavior until I installed SM 1.4.6rc1 and then later
with 1.4.5. I have 1.2.9 running fine still. All 3 versions
are installed along side each other in different directories
(as I have done in the past when testing upgrades).

If I see it happen again I will try to get a tcpdump/ssldump
capture to see what is being sent to the browser. I tried
looking at the urls via LiveHTTP headers in firefox but
it didn't show anything too helpful. the links had the
correct target=right tag on them to open in the right frame,
they were identical to the links in SM 1.2.9.

- the behavior happens whether or not the APC accelerator
  is used
- the behavior happens whether or not there are any
  plugins enabled

Only thing I can think of is some strange quirk with the
newer SM on my oldish version of PHP though I see the
docs mention needing at least php 4.0.6(?) and I have
4.1.x.

thanks

nate
