-Most of these are not squirrelmail questions, but I'll try to give a little direction. It won't come cheap, you still have to do your own research.

A good place to look for something like this is at phpbuilder.com > Do I NEED to have a linux user for every mail user? Or can I have > virtual users? How and what part of the installation takes care of > that? That is an IMAP issue. You are now using uw-imap, which I dunno if it can handle virtual users. Setting up virtual users is no mean trick to get right. You have to authenticate against something, and there are options of LDAP and databases (MySQL or Postgresql would be my choices). > If I can have virtual user, how is the authentication done? Where are > the user accounts stored? Again, that depends on your choice of authentication method. I have about 5,000 linux users on one machine, all authenticated by passwd via httpd_auth. They are almost all sent to /sbin/nologin for a shell so they have no shell access, and there have been no problems. > What do I need MySql for and how do I create the database and actually > start using it? I need the commands for this and since I am new to > MySql I am not sure if there is a client or something that can help > log me into it. So lost :D Your best resource beyond everything else is mysql.com. The documentation is clear and concise, so it shouldn't be a problem is you've set up SM. I would suggest that you get a beginners book for getting to know SQL. 'SQL for Dummies' or SAMs 'Teach yourself SQL in 10 minutes' are both good starter books. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
