You're right Martin, it's not a fix but a workaround for the problem, the
strange thing is that manpages for reboot and halt say "On Linux, this is
unnecessary as the kernel will do this anyway.", but removing the flag resolves
the issue.

Excuse me, I'm brand new to Linux and have exactly the same problem as Texas
Ranger. I'm using ubuntu 8.10 , OpenOffice 3.0 updated through

MX460-VTP and 96.43.09-0ubuntu1 driver.
I typed 'sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf' and
I added Option "RenderAccel" "False" in the "Device" section but it
didn't change the problem, then I added that in the "Screen" section and
it also changed nothing. Do I have to restart after changing the file?

Hi, i have Dapper installed and i find problems mounting DVD's
Some DVD's are mounted like it wouldn't have any information in, when I load
this DVD's on my Windows ,Xbox,DVD player they work perfectlly. even when i
load the disk in the virtual windows of the vmware it works
