Checked source.list.d files and source.list file that you specified. I
dont think I have http://ppa... or anything link with word boot enabled.
But, still your solution worked once and then, I tried to boot in safe
mode and repaired the packages. Again, I'm at the same point. unable to

I think got this fixed in my desktop.. after removing the conf file
I ran the following command and it fixed my update process
sudo cp lightdm-gtk-greeter-ubuntu.conf.dpkg-new lightdm-gtk-greeter-

I updated my system today, and I remeber there was a network-manager
update too. After update, my network is screwed up. I am not able to
connect to any network (Wired, Wireless). Network manager says I am
connected, but can't ping anyone

up correctly, still could not ping any website with the name.
I changed the resolve.conf file and added my nameserver manually and it's
working now.
I am not a network expert, so don't have much Idea on what is wrong.
My OS version is ubuntu 8.10

Iam using this webcam 46d :092f on itrepid ibex and its very dark.Cant

Just because i mentioned skype?
I feel it could be related to pulseaudio ,since that seems to be a
problem for many users.Skype was working fine in feisty fawn.
I also will report it to skype.

I just installed firefox 3.5 from the official repos yesterday and it
took me to a page redirect saying congrats- you have been upgraded to

But the tooltip in menu for this item still says 'beta web browser'
