Sounds good now. I have no way of testing this bug for sure aside from
playing a bunch of media and listening out for it. So can I get back to
you in a while after I have run my "tests"?

Hasn't fixed things. Looked good for about 20 minutes. I played one mp3
(via Banshee) and two Flash videos (via Firefox). Watching a third now
and the same problem keeps happening.

correctly. Stupidly I stopped making backups so I forgot what I should
be reverting to.

Perhaps I'm doing something incorrectly, but none of these solutions
work for me.
I've tried the stop start udev and that hasn't helped. I'm trying to get
my Casio camera to mount when i attach it via USB as well as an external
USB hard drive and numerous USB sticks.
I've also notice that in the

problems that are around Karmic. I can also report that none of my
external USB devices automount.

I'm checking the suggestions of bug #450546 now to see if they help.
On an unrelated note I tried putting in a USB stick and restarting to
see if upon restart the drive is recognised (as suggested by some
posts). No luck I'm afraid.

Hi there. I may have a related problem on bug #413131.
I got no output on gvfs-mount -oi but here are my outputs for the other
two monitor commands attached. I hope this sheds some light on things
and why they aren't working.

I don't have sl-modem-daemon installed so removing it wasn't an option.
I managed to get something working by switching the analogue/ digital
switch in alsamixer. Also the default volumes were too low to be
audible.
Every now and again the switch resets itself and I have to change it
again. But a
Same as William. Upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 and now thumb drives (and my
external hard drive and my camera) don't auto mount. I'm able to
manually mount them but this is not ideal and in fact a step backwards.

same for me but i'm running a 64 bit beta of karmic.
the test was to switch to another virtual terminal and back again but
nothing happened.
