After switching the handedness of the mouse in the mouse control panel,
the orientation of the mouse pointer does not change. So, if this was
fixed, or an option for changing the orientation of the mouse pointer
was added, then after switching the mouse into left handed mode,
I'd argue that it's more than not useful, it's extremely annoying and
misleading. We have two dell laptops in the house that had this
problem. Due to the pc-speaker-like sound of the beeps, and the fact
that the volume of the sound is very loud independent of the mixer

perfectly (and fast). I don't know which particular update fixed it but
I can confirm that both 8.04 and 8.10 are now mounting NFS3 fine for me.

I went to Europe (6/23/06), and wanted to watch a region 2 dvd. I found
the regionset command, and it successfully changed the region to 2.
However since I have been home (7/1/06) I've been unable to change the
region back to region 1.

It should be pretty trivial to add code to the sleep script to check for
fglrx and a newer kernel, and refuse to suspend if they are known bad.
Like, say, the attached script, which is no doubt hacky and awful, but
at least it would prevent users from suspending their machines
improperly.

There's an easy workaround for this bug. Just use the 2.6.20 kernel
from 7.04. That's what I'm doing and everything works fine. You have
to manually install fglrx, but it's a lot easier than downgrading.

can't reliably reproduce it, but whenever it happens, there is a flash
object (which was blocked by flashblock) on the page the exactly the
same size as the window that appeared, and one time the window wasn't
blank, but had an ad

PC still has intermittent errors at boot-time at the rc.local and nfs
sections. Sometimes one of the mounts will happen but not thhe others
from the same nfs server.

When starting the gnome-display-properties dialogue, the display settings are
changed, automatically, with no confirmation dialogue.
I can reproduce by:
1. Starting my computer with 1 monitor plugged in (my laptop display).
2. Plugging in a second monitor
There is more to this bug than just the side bars. It seems that mouse
clicks will often behave as if the mouse is positioned over whatever GUI
widget has focus. IE, if an email address in an email has focus, and I
click anywhere else in the email window, sometimes I get a new window to

I checked the permissions anyway, and they are all correct. I don't see
how they could have changed either (either to being broken or being
fixed).

After restarting the computer, I can mount the drive just fine. I
suspect the problem is linked to the backup program trying to run while
the drive is not mounted.

When one prints to PDF/PS/SVG from Firefox, the filename defaults to
".pdf" or ".ps" or ".svg"
These filenames are hidden by default by in GNOME and it is my opinion that
this is a bad practice.
If one forgets to specify a filename then the file

too hard to fix (but what do I know :) )
This bug also affects Thunderbird 3.0 RC2, though I can't say for sure
if it affects 2.0 that ships with Ubuntu as I don't use 2.0.

If I uncheck any of the items in the Games menu (not those that have
been filed under Logic), then they remain visible. Items in other menus
(at least the Accessories and Graphics) seem to work correctly. Items in
Games->Logic also work correctly
