Yes, Blueman is definitely the answer in Jaunty.

And it is a real problem - XMMS is the only player that can sensibly
handle my music collection. Audacious crashes if you try to add tens of
thousands of tracks and the database apps (Rhythmbox, Banshee, Amarok
etc.) just never finish "updating" when you point them at 30.0
1. Boot ubuntu installer
2. Open terminal window
3. sudo ubiquity --gtk (or something like that)
4. Get to end of installer and press install. Total lock-up. Nothing brings
it back.

but I have no idea what causes this,
and what I expect is that dmesg includes no error messages
all I did to encounter to issue is to type:
dmesg
and that includes many such error messages
