1. Boot ubuntu installer
2. Open terminal window
3. sudo ubiquity --gtk  (or something like that)
4. Get to end of installer and press install.  Total lock-up.  Nothing brings 
it back. 

It might be the case that practically no one outside of the ubiquity
developers know there are multiple front end options like cli and gtk.

It sounds like CLI and gtk front ends are abandoned with nothing
documented or code cleaned up.  Does the whole ubuntu project run as
quick and dirty as ubiquity?
