I think I found the workaround to this.
1. Open Nautilus
- Places -> Home
2. Then, Edit -> Preferences
3. Choose the Media tab
4. Choose the appropriate action next to the Music Player item in the Media
Handling session. I chose Do Nothing, personally.

I tested also with an nvidia quadro fx3400/4400 but it still didn't help at
all. With an nvidia driver installation, the whole machine just dies. Vesa
drivers don't work either.

Solved. Turned out to be a couple of settings at /etc/ppp/options,
where both "lcp-echo-interval" and "lcp-echo-failure" need a value of
"0" (no quotes).
This was causing glitches in both WVDial scripts and Network Manager 7,
leading me to blame the underlying driver.

Confirmed for Intrepid. It's just a graphic glitch though, since it

I just got this too.

Ah...turns out the support for my critter has migrated to a driver
called "option" at /linux-source-2.6.27/drivers/usb/serial - looking at
option.c it's obvious KPC680 support is at least supposed to be in

I have a new install of Kubuntu on a 64-bit system and noticed a crash

open or if I just start it up and immediately close. I have another
