Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn

It would be nice if the --up and --down options (or an equivalent)
were provided to allow a user to execute an arbitrary shell command upon
connection and disconnection of a VPN.

One particular use of this would be to execute a "mount -a" when the VPN
connects, thus reconnecting any remote shares that were set up in fstab.
Also, it would allow users to execute external routing commands to
configure more advanced setups.

** Affects: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
