I can confirm this, however the same problem happens with the main
Applications/Places/System menus. Because of this, I doubt it is
actually a bug in indicator-applet --- probably gnome-panel instead.
Hopefully somebody with more knowledge of these systems will be able to
assign it to the proper p

There is a new one upstream that will hopefully be in lucid in a few
days.

Oddly enough, after three reboots the situation has changed slightly.
Now the monitor is detected 'correctly' (it is listed as a "Dell 22
Inch" instead of "unknown"), but the list of resolutions is even worse
than before. It can only go up to 1024x768, and has no 16x9 or 16x10
resolutions availabl
And after another reboot it's back to the old behavior. I'll try and
nail down what causes the different behaviors, but at this point it
seems completely random.

I've been able to reproduce this bug consistently with Empathy and Skype
(latest Oneiric). Just open one of them normally, then click the red X
to hide it to the indicator or tray. When you open them again via the
indicator or tray, this bug occurs.
I've attached my xsession errors from a session
Closing as invalid as per recent comments by Balint Reczey.

Ubuntu since the last time this bug was touched. Marking as incomplete
until someone can show that it is still reproducible on a recent
version. I lack the hardware to reproduce myself.

I did see this consistently on my natty install, however I got to natty
from lucid by way of maverick, so I don't know where my graphics stack
was at that point (didn't do anything fancy with it though, so
presumably it went to Gallium and I didn't notice).

Update on this, so it doesn't look like it will be going into Lucid. I
really don't know why, and I'm rather peeved about it as well.

libpcap issue: tcpdum
Launchpad provides a convenient method of searching. Just go to
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libpcap
and scroll down and click on the "Other versions of 'libpcap' in
untrusted archives." and you'll get a list of all the PPAs with libpcap.
I honestly don't know if any of the listed PPAs in
Setting to confirmed given the number of dupes and the discussion
upstream.
