I can't reproduce this on any of the machines I have. Given the log messages, it's probably a kernel driver problem, not a libpcap problem. If you can identify which USB device is causing the problem, it would probably be a good idea to see if it works with other programs (try putting a thumb drive in and see if it works normally).
In the mean time, I've opened a new task in 'linux' (the kernel) and marked the original libpcap task as invalid.
