Not sure where you want to do this (Linux or Windows) but I guess you
are currently working on the Windows side since your Ubuntu is not
working. You can download md5-checkers for Windows at http://md5-check-
windows.qarchive.org/ (or simpy google for many more). There is also

I never tried gOS: it uses an older version of Ubuntu but I guess the
point of it is that you can use Google gadgets on your desktop. Don't
know if that's important to you, for some reason I don't really need

It is indeed true that firefox is very unstable with flash recently.
Opera is a bit better with that. (I feel like firefox is better with

streams simulanteously and it seems to me that this last archive green
package has seriously improved my experience, especially in that there
is no more audio and video stuttering. I never had freezes though, so

I used Aldrin's advice from bug 367309 and that actually fixes my
problem with the bizarre brightness settings (I have yet to long-term-
test if the flashes go away as well). You type
xrandr --output LVDS --set BACKLIGHT_CONTROL combination
and the brightness behavior is completely normal again.

Here there's a window list that is compressed because to the right of it
there is an indicator applet that is completely invisible. That's kind
of confusing.

I wasn't sure if it was metacity issue or not. All I know is that it
happened to me ever since I upgraded to Gnome 2.26. It might be a Gnome
issue as well though, because these tooltips are completely useless
notifications of the gnome panel (the dragging in the switcher has once
