computer as the one I had when first reporting the problem, and can't test
onthe old one.

The killswitch button in my laptop does work, in the sense that it is
impossible to connect to wifi afterwards. However, network-manager still
thinks the connection is alright, and tries to connect. I'm not sure if
the bug is in wl or network-manager though.

While I agree with the bulk of your argument, enb, the queuing can be
avoided by using the "merge" functionality. However, this doesn't work
with notify-send. I've just filed a bug report at

Just happened to me, on up-to-date lucid, amd64 on ext4.
I had some corruption error on my hard drive, which were picked up by fsck on
reboot. fsck did its magic, then rebooted. On next reboot, the following
infinite loop occured: fsck gets in

disappointment with ubuntu.
There are two things at issue here, variable delays, and lack of merging
for notifications sent by notify-send.
It is clear that the ubuntu people in general do not wish to address the

Sorry if I was not clear. I'm using gnome-panel, and the bug is still
present in the latest version. It's not too bad really cause I can see
the battery status with the tooltips, but since it works fine on unity
(haven't tried unity2D), I guess it's a bug.
