This is currently a problem for some laptops. Restarting dbus fixes all sorts of issues after suspend (for example, on a thinkpad T61 the cdrom stops working, network connections time out, etc till dbus is restarted). The gnome power monitor should handle this more gracefully than to simply die.

I would say, that the patch you quoted fixes the problem, but probably causes another. After applying it, the are no more 'uninterruptible' bashes, but again with heavy network activity (torrent for example) network connection is broken. No more network activity is possible. See attached trace. *
