I can't speak to others, but to reproduce my problem, I can guess it would be very easy: Borrow a Lenovo thinkpad T61 with intel video option (very common laptop). Install ubuntu Gutsy on it. Try to use 3d. Theres nothing weird about the setup, its right out of the box. I have yet to find a 3d application with a lot of things going on that does NOT crash eventually. Its not elusive, at least on my hardware.
