Some notes on terminology: At some point "Wireless" must have been
changed to "Wi-Fi" in the GUI but the desktop help wasn't changed. I
briefly checked terminology outside Ubuntu. For example, Wikipedia uses
"Wi-Fi" not "WiFi" or "wifi" or "wi-fi". I haven't done a global replace
in the help of "wi
I think I have a basic understanding of what the "Shared to other
computers" option does. If the option is set, can more than one "client"
computer use the connection at the same time? If someone gives me the
answer I plan to add the information to the help.

Hasn't fixed the issue for me, Am able to boot up warm however cold
boots seems to take about 10-15 attempts.
Not to sure if this is another issue, however when I hold shift to boot
into grub menu, 9/10 it just goes to Grub loading and goes no further.

However, I don't believe it is acceptable for the hyper-visor kernel to be
affected from this.
Actually, this is a security issue if a VM user can crash i't Host kernel and

This is also happening on my iMac running Oneiric, kernel
3.0.0-16-generic. Initially the errors seem benign but eventually
network performance degrades to unusable speeds. I have no problems if I
use the vendor sk98lin driver compiled against the linux-
image-2.6.35-22-generic kernel. Foresto's s

I did not try older versions of Ubuntu so I do not know whether older
versions have the issue. I am happy to try older versions out.

Neither /sys/class/leds, /sys/class/backlight have an entry related to
acer-wmi.
Specifically,
