After replacing my network card (actually mounting the hardrive into a
different system but the issue is the same) there is no networking
anymore.
There is /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules which lists the old
MAC as eth0 and prevents the new card from becoming eth0.
It think it is possible to add the current locale to the configuration
file if it is an utf-8 locale.
However, I do not know what the format of the file is so I am not sure
if this can be done safely.
Another option is to start scim in en_US locale if the current locale is

boot but from X start to X start. That is probably why Windows keep the
resolution settings when no screen is detected. It may be turned off,

Yes, I cannot see anything with Matrox G400 AGP with the Edgy driver and
cannot install Edgy either (it probably uses X in installer).
I compiled latest drm/mesa/mga, and it works quite well. OpenGL works for me
even better than with the Dapper driver.

What you are seeing is different. For you no driver loads, and you
probably need an updated intel driver for that device.
For me the nv (or nvidia) driver loads but fails to drive the card.

This is resolved by upgrading to Debian testing libsane and xsane.
Upgrading libsane resoves the crash but the scanner locks up when the
receive progress bar reaches a particular point.
Upgrading both libsane and xsane seems to resolve the problem
completely.

It seems the scanner lockups are related to the selected scanning
resolution.
Scanning in 100, 1200 and 2400 dpi works but 150 dpi (the default) locks
up the scanner - the data transfer stops at certain point and the
scanner moves the lamp back, starts flashing the lamp, and has to be
power-cycled

There are two issues here:
cu randomly identifies the serial connection as dialin (nortscts) ot
dialout (rtscts). I don't care about that distinction being broken. I

Well, the resolver is a mess.
That's regardless of multiarch.
That's a bunch of separate issues.
Maybe it does work worse on multiarch but it works poorly under any
conditions so it's hard to tell.

I suspect that once packges get backported to oneiric whatever trigggers
the issue might get backported as well or some other packages might
trigger it. As it is fixed in newer version I also suspect it was
already diagnosed and fixed, hence re-diagnosing it is redudndant.
