The problems are with the default configuration - before I made any changes. I tried to make scim behave more sensibly so the output would probably no longer be of much use. I guess one should get the same behavior again after removing ~/.scim or creating a new user. > > 4. Are you using im-switch? I have no problems with scim starting, I know I can turn it on and off with im-switch, and it worked for me when I tried.
