The problem was in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/70pulseaudio
In solving bug #274124 the fix was to create that entry that pointed to

Another way of looking at it: /etc/X11/Xsession.d/70pulseaudio doesn't
check that /usr/bin/pulse-session actually exists before it tries to

Either this check should be applied in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/70pulseaudio

It appears that the recursion editing is generally broken. Moving a
event can be done by seperating hte event from the recursion. However
moving it again after that corrupts the entry, making it impossible to
delete and destroying all recurred events. This is essential for the

It's an Intel integrated graphics card. But I can't be sure what driver

I've added the entire log for completeness. But I think that these are
probably the key lines:
(II) Matched intel from file name intel.ids in autoconfig
(==) Matched intel for the autoconfigured driver
(==) Assigned the driver to the xf86ConfigLayout
(II) LoadModule: "intel"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/
I had just implemented that workaround and was seeing great
improvements, when an update to the intel driver came through.
EXA now seems to be fixed and is working smoothly in the latest build.
So this bug should be 'fixed'?
