Public bug reported:
The master volume can't be adjusted on the compaq presario when running
the latest (2.6.22) set of kernels, it's stuck at maximum, you can
adjust it in alsamixer, but it doesn't actually change.
This is a HDA intel sound device. Sorry if this isn't very informative,
s'all I can offer on the matter.
