How to reproduce this:
I run Xvfb :99 -ac, then DISPLAY=:99 gnome-terminal. When I kill gnome-terminal
(with CTRL+C), Xvfb dies as well, throwing Segmentation Fault.
System:
Ubuntu Intrepid (I failed to reproduce this bug on Hardy)

I can confirm this as well. Today I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.27-11 and
menu.lst was not re-generated. I had to run sudo update-grub manually
which fixed menu.lst for me. Here is the apt log:

I have exactly the same problem with 2.6.28-8.26. The problem started to
appear only recently (2-4 days ago). The problem manifests only when

More findings: when performing boot by turning the computer on, the
driver freezes with EXA. I have to unplug the second monitor, boot to X,
replug the monitor, restart X and then it works correctly. With XAA it

My system behaves exactly like you described: everything besides Xorg
seems to work - disk LED blinks, mouse moves. This is not a kernel
panic, it's just that Xorg keyboard does not work, nor does the SysRq+R.
The only keys that works are the SysRq magic keys. An ordinary Xorg
freeze :-)

upgrading to xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.6.3-0ubuntu9 resolves this bug.
xserver-xorg is 7.4~5ubuntu18. Compiz is stable for an hour now. Going

base.conf I had an old setting:

mplayer seems to always swap channels when trying to play 5.1 faad mkv file.
For example, left speaker plays content intended to be played through the
center speaker. I had to craft a script which redirects all channels to correct

To fix the bug, make sure that the /etc/kernel-img.conf file contains the
following two lines:
postinst_hook = update-grub
postrm_hook = update-grub
Somehow those two lines vanished from my computer. When I added them
back, the menu.lst file started to get re-generated correctly.

Starting from Ubuntu 21.04 the pipewire libs are bundled in Ubuntu
itself, to allow screen sharing over webrtc. This allows Firefox to cast
screen properly, which is great :)
However, since the Chromium snap is missing the pipewire support
(currently 90.0.4430.85), it's not possible to set the fla
[continuing]
This is bad, since Ubuntu 21.04 switches from Xorg to Wayland by default
which effectively disables screen sharing on Chromium. User needs to go
back to Xorg to enable screen sharing on Chromium, which is a bit of a
pity since pipewire is already in place and ready to be used.

Sometimes the login screen suddenly does not hide the app list. Clicking
on individual apps will actually launch that app behind the lock screen.

I have just upgraded to 5.0.0-11 on my other laptop also with hybrid
Intel+Nvidia GPU stack (a different Nvidia GPU though) - the same thing
happened, Linux+nouveau completely ignores the nvidia GPU.

nouveau.modeset=1 fixed things for me as well. This bug can be closed as

When I start screencast by pressing Alt+Ctrl+Shift+R, it auto-stops
itself exactly after 30 seconds. That is highly unexpected, there is no
explanation as to why the sudden stop. That leaves me confused as an
user.
