I was stuck using 2.6.24-19 with the module backports for awhile, but today decided to try 2.6.24-24 and voila! LED works and blinks now! Works great! Of course you still need the backported modules package installed. May have been fixed in an earlier kernel (-22,-23), I just haven't tried them.

Well, I tried a throwaway usb cam with kernel 2.6.19.1 and it still killed the device I put a usb card (2port 2.0, pci) and disabled the 'built-in' ports in bios and haven't had a prob with some more throwaway devices since. If I'm crazy bring all and every usb device to my house and try it o
