FWIW I for one have been using upstream's "perfect setup" configuration
(pointing alsa apps to pa via the libasound pulse plugin), and it's
worked great. With the exception of mostly diagnostic tools (speaker-
test for example), it's worked fine. Firefox still crashes with the

Likewise, I find this focus-stealing behavior to be easily my pet peeve
about firefox. It wouldn't be so bad if:
- accepting/rejecting the cookies in a dialog for someserver.com applied to all
the dialogs for that server. Often I'll get a particular server trying to set 5
different cookies, and
I too get inaudible audio from flash with asound pointed at the pulse
plugin, until I install libflashsupport, at which point sound comes
through, but the occasional firefox crashes come back (unless
nspluginwrapper is installed, in which case flash will crash but not
take firefox with it).

connect to open, unencrypted access points. WPA access points are

Even the flickering message isn't really sufficient. You get:

In this case, it seems to be an ntfs-3g partition causing the problem.
Commenting out the line:
"/dev/sda1 /mnt/c ntfs defaults 0 0"
in /etc/fstab gets it booting again. Once the system is booted, I can
uncomment it and mount it fine.

wpasupplicant, but the instructions they provide (

In what way is this fixed in 9.10? I'm watching videos here with totem-
mozilla with no buffering indicator. Do you have a test case that works?

Upstream suggests this was only implemented in totem after 9.10 was
released, and I certainly see this behavior in karmic. I'll reopen this
until we have some confirmation of what's going on.
