I just compiled kdeutils 3.5.9 from source, and this problem seems to be
fixed, though one of the patches needs to be tweaked to get it compile.

(2.6.24-12). If you go into /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/sound/,

is now /dev/scd1) and a dvd/cdrw (/dev/scd0) and can mount a cd in the
cdrom drive, but can't mount a cd or dvd on the dvd/cdrw drive. Trying

Adding "blacklist b43-pci-bridge" didn't help. I couldn't get recovery
mode or a USB live cd to boot, but adding the boot option
"noload=b43,ssd,b43-pci-bridge" allowed me to boot. I removed B43 using

This also happened to me. I didn't notice untill this morning when I tried to
access my music on my iPhone. It displays "Updating Library... this may take a
few minutes" and just sits there.
I recall that the phone was syncing a few times while it was connected and
while I was playing music from
getting this on current karmic beta. the automagical bug stuff led me
here.

I can't believe that this bug is going to make it into Karmic final :( I
just helped a friend of mine get rid of his spyware ridden Windows
install by installing Karmic RC remotely and fully updated it. I was sad
to hear that the screen was flickering when it restarted. I tried the
HAL patch listed
nd prevented it from
resuming properly.

The machine fails to resume from suspend. It will power up for a
