Public bug reported:

I just updated Kubuntu from Edgy to Feisty. There were various problems
along the line of the upgrade, from my nvidia drivers getting screwed up
to various packages not being installed correctly. I was able to fix
the nvidia issues, but I'm worried about the packages. When I was
trying to fix my nvidia issues, I reinstalled my linux-restricted-
modules-generic package. Adept said that the package was up to date
with the latest that was available, but when I marked it for re-
installation it actually started downloading a new version. Now I'm
concerned that not all of my packages are up to date and that might
cause problems. So, how do I force re-installation of all of the
packages on my system?
