After a fresh install of Intrepid Ibex (8.10) I tried establishing a wireless
connection using my speedtouch 121g usb dongle via ndiswrapper (and bt4501g
driver).
The system completely freezes after the modprobe.

On my laptop running Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa, the update manager tries
for several minutes to update snaps every time the update-manager is
used.
This operation is pointless, because I have removed all snaps from my
installation and do not run the snapd deamon.

However, removing snapd did not also remove ubuntu-desktop (seem to
remember it did do so in previous versions) and sort of kept it also for

Not sure why the release of 11.10 contains netatalk 2.2~beta4-1
I downloaded netatalk 2.2.1, built it and replaced the release version
with this and it now works. If you do do this, remember that there's a
quiet dependency on libgcrypt-dev - you need to have libgcrypt-dev
installed when you build
I can confirm this behaviour, When trying to view fullscreen flash video
in firefox the screen turns white. the sound of the video can be heard,
but the system is left in an unusable state. Screen stays white, no
reaction to keyboard or mouse.
This is on an Dell Optiplex GX620 with Intel Pentium D

The same problem is effecting my Dell latitude D520. I can no longer use it
