I am using a single-monitor 1280x1024 setup with a 256M FireGL V3700,
and a similar issue is exhibited (differing only in log output). I have
successfully used a dual-monitor setup with this card where _both_
monitors had higher resolution than this one; I agree that this is not

None of the troubleshooting steps yielded any response when these buttons were
pressed.
There are three input devices that show up with findkeyboards:
input/event3
input/event5
input/js0
All of the regular keyboard buttons yield a response when I use keymap on
event3. The buttons I am interested
The results are more or less the same for kernel 3.11.0-031100rc4-generic which
I downloaded from the link you provided.
The only difference is that findkeyboards lists event12 and event14 instead of
event3 and event5 as before (and js0 still appears). The behavior is identical.
The bug persists
I've submitted the upstream report to the appropriate team. I cc'ed this
bug, but it does not appear to have updated here. Let me know if there
is anything else to do.

This happens to me as well. I'm running Edgy on a thinkpad laptop with a
Radeon 9600-based card. Using the 'radeon' driver, external VGA works
fine, but DVI doesn't work. When using fglrx, everything works fine.

purposes.
Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter. I have done this three
times and one of the three times I deviated slightly from the
instructions and it did not work.

Jelmer, does unmaintained mean that these simple fixes won't get merged
? And by "not packaged in Ubuntu" do you mean "not in main" or not at
all (not in main, universe, multiverse) ?
