After installing the openbox packages, selecting the Openbox/GNOME
session used Metacity instead of Openbox as the window manager.

AGP rev 3. Xubuntu 9.04 graphical installation fails. Used the alternate

On my Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A with Edgy the kernel options noapic,
nolapic, acpi=off and irqpoll don't help this problem. Neither does
removing hplip packages.
What's interesting is that the computer always hangs immediately if I
switch on the Canon bubble jet printer connected to the USB port.

Xorg still crashed today. I returned to the netbook after it had been
idle for a couple of hours. I hit Fn-8 to disable the secondary display.

When unplugging my Dell Mini 9, often I get a message which tells a
correct charge percentage (e.g. 75%) but estimates remaining time at 1
minute. The laptop then hibernates (and freezes completely because of
the sleep/hibernate-with-SD-card-mounted bug).

Just did a clean install of Lucid 2010-04-02 on a Dell Mini 9. Installed
a few packages with the GUI tool in the Applications menu, then a few
more using apt-get. Then added the file /etc/apt/apt.conf/99proxy to use
apt-cacher available on one of the boxes on the local network:

I sprinkled some debug output into job-ata-smart-collect.c and it seems
that the sk_disk_open() call spins up the disk even before the sleep
mode gets checked.
sk_disk_open() is provided by libatasmart4, so should this bug be
assigned there?
Strangely, hdparm -C manages to retrieve the sleep stat
I've traced the reason for the spin-up to the
disk_smart_read_thresholds() call at the end of sk_disk_open() in
atasmart.c.
Apparently the SMART "Read Thresholds" command implies spinning up the
disk, at least on my and Ricardo's controllers. I wonder why
libatasmart4 always executes that call alr
Adding libatasmart to the "Affects" list since that seems to be the root
cause for the problem: libatasmart can't query the sleep state of a
drive without opening it first, and opening a disk executes the "Read
Thresholds" call which spins up the disk.

I upgraded all packages on Lucid yesterday (2010-01-16) on a Dell Mini
9. Next time on power-up the machine froze after only these messages on
the console:

This is still an issue with Lucid upgraded up-to-date on 2010-01-17.
Cold booting or even removing the battery before power-up doesn't help
at all.

In Lucid with alacarte 0.12.4-1ubuntu, a menu item still disappears for
almost 2 seconds when dragging it to the same or a different folder.
Also, dragging and dropping doesn't move the item but makes a copy (even
when dropping to the same folder).
