Vassilis: the 83% happened to me when I had not enough memory and linux
was using a swap partition it found on that hard drive. As it could not
wipe the disk entirely (because swapoff -a failed), this error used to
happen.
As the OP didn't answer, let's wait for a while.

Changing udev rules for nvidia or intel-agp would be the ideal solution.
As a simple fix, I did a script which checks if both hardware are
present and then I mount / as rw, blacklisting intel-agp and then I
mount / as read-only again (fsck expects this). It must be ran quite
early - before the res
Ben, even if I disable the addon video chip (the boards I'm working on
this have all this setting and none of them works), the issue raises.
And the device is still present on the system. Broken bios, I know. As
there are some of those boards around, a fix is still needed.
One extra issue is that

I found out that this is not only nvidia and i865 related. Several intel
chipsets suffers from this issue, and using ATI boards makes the problem
appears as well. This makes the bug's relevance critical.
i945 shows the very same problem (which makes this one not being a
specific isolated case). Ed
This happens not only in KDE, but in Gnome as well. Just open the File
Open in Openoffice (which is 32-bit) on Ubuntu-amd64.

The installation can be borked entirely, if you, for instance, choose to
erase a whole disk and there's not enough memory to turn swap off.
I don't know, however, what the solution for this would be - at least in
the case of the insufficient memory.

Altough the spanish language itself doesn't use the Tilde "~" character
itself but in the ñ, portuguese people names are very common, as well as
places' names.
In spanish layout keyboards, the tilde is accessed using the Alt-gr+4
combination. Using windows, the ~ works as an

I don't think so. If I open it and tell it to go to page 90, for
instance, it goes almost intantly. Then, after browsing some pages, it
suddenly stops.

When in Dapper's gaim, you can set some configurations, as for instance,
that "esc" closes a conversation tab.
Edgy does not, however the already-created configuration still works.
But you can't set it anymore, neither unset something you did wrong

I can't confirm this one (on the contrary). I just sent an iso image
through it. Altough it took forever, it did work.
AFAIK, gaim doesn't create direct connections for file transfers in msn,
it uses a central server, isn't it? Direct file transfer was a very
required thing in gaim's bugzilla (or

you, and if he/she does it, you are usually able to answer. This used to
work on gaim, but now it doesn't.
I'm not aware about when this regression happens, but I'm quite sure
I am using windows' live messenger 8.0.812.00 right now, and I can
confirm that this can be done using it.
My test:
- say to someone talk to me when appearing as offline.
- say him to close his conversation window
- I closed my conversation window with him
- Wait for 20 minutes
- I open a convers
