Public bug reported: Altough the spanish language itself doesn't use the Tilde "~" character itself but in the ñ, portuguese people names are very common, as well as places' names.
In spanish layout keyboards, the tilde is accessed using the Alt-gr+4 combination. Using windows, the ~ works as an accent, which means it waits for a vowel to be typed. In ubuntu this doesn't happen. ã and õ are very common. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Spanish layout misses ~ combinations https://launchpad.net/bugs/68357 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
