possible to seek forward nor backward in playing time of their Vorbis
streams using Totem. VLC however lets me seek just as before. Also,

I tried to look in more detail at the crash this evening, because it's really
causing me a lot of headache now. The most recent time I tried to boot a new
c1.xlarge in us-east-1 this evening, I had to cycle through the
crash/terminate/relaunch cycle 7 times before I got a working instance. I

It seems this is a bug in empathy and not telepathy-gabble. I've used
empathy daily for over a year now and this has never happened so I've
just rolled back to the lucid release of empathy & empathy-common
(2.30.0.1-0ubuntu3) and I can now suspend and resume with empathy re-
connecting instantly.
Good point, I have tried now to disable hyper-threading on my eeepc 901,
and this solves the error message... but yes, it seems slower.

I have also tried to set ACPI_SLEEP_MODE=standby in /etc/default/acpi-
support but I don't have noticed any behaviour change.
The description of the parameter is:
# Change the following to "standby" to use ACPI S1 sleep, rather than S3.
# This will save less power, but may work on more machines
