I also own an Epson Aculaser CX11NF and encountered exactly the same
problem. The network scan autodetected an Aculaser CX21 (which at least
phonetically is very close). The IP settings have been derived correctly
and even the fill level of the toner cartridges seems to be determined.

Till, are you sure this is entirely a driver issue? It seems that
there's a myriad of printers that suffer from the same symptoms, worked
fine in 9.10 but refuse to do anything in 10.04 and have a fancy for
blinking. Are they all using them same driver? If not, why is CX11

The Epson AcuLaser CX11 indeed needs a manufacturer-supplied proprietary
driver. It does not work with any driver which comes with Ubuntu.
Everyone who has another printer, please report a separate new bug (if
you have not done so already). Assign it to the "gutenprint" package and
proceed as desc
