I have downloaded the daily version, and the problem has been solved. I am new
to Ubuntu and not know many things :(, and one that did not know is that there
are new versions every day. The Live CD works correctly now, but I can not
install because my system is shared with Vista and Ubuntu 9.04
There are many issues coming up in the comments here, but if I
understand correctly, Juan's problems are fixed in Karmic. Juan, please
reopen the bug if this is not correct. All others, please file your own
bug reports if there are still any issues in Karmic, after today's
updates.

Good news!
The problem has disappeared after using today's (21 sept 2009) Live
Build from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/
With this build I can get to the desktop with no problem. Everything
looks fine, though I haven't installed it, just used the Live CD.

I have confirmed same behavior with the Alpha 6 live CD... gets to the
unbuntu logo, bouncing white line, repeats infintely... I re-installed
alpha 4 and everything works fine. Toshiba Satellite A215-S6816, AMD
Turion 64, ATI Radion Mobility 2400.

I thought maybe I just downloaded/burned the Alpha 6 64-bit CD
incorrectly, but I'm experiencing the same issue as hajtipajti reported
- it gets to the ubuntu logo with the bouncy/moving white line, plays
the startup sound, the screen blacks out, and repeats the process to
infinity. This happened
Try to download the version with Xubuntu, I that I work, you may go to
the desktop, but I have not installed because my computer is shared with
Vista and Ubuntu 9.04 and I will not spoil the boot. Kubuntu also works.

I've tested Alpha 6 live CD (without installation) on my system, but the
same problem happens as before: when the desktop should appear, I can
hear the welcome tune, but then the screen goes back to the screen. with
the Ubuntu logo and the moving white line. Then again the welcome tune
starts then
There seems to be mixed results on whether Alpha 6 has corrected the problem or
not.
There is a duplicate bug for this, whose thread states Alpha 6 has fixed the
problem, but for my system it does not seem to have been corrected.

I downloaded the Alpha 5 version of Kubuntu and Xubuntu, and with these
two, if I get that Live CD from the desktop. In Kubuntu, before entering
the desktop, it asks me for username and password, and I can not enter,
but if I choose on the menu, the option to install, then if I can. In
the Live CD
Same here. After the last update x-server does not respond. Tried to manually
enter startx. This is what I get:

It's something to do with gnome I think... I installed xfce and that

I'm experiencing the same problem with Alpha 5 64-bit. The system hangs
after entering my username and password. I have noticed we all seem to
have ATI graphics hardware, maybe an issue with this?

I confirm that after upgrading to latest Karmik Koala (September 15,
2009) my system stops booting. Kernel is 2.6.31-10-generic. I've tried
to boot in recovery mode, but without success. The last lines in the
boot logs are:

I booted from CD and took our 'quiet splash' from /etc/default/grub, ran
