Hi,
I thought I would mention that the system I have that exhibited this bug
is no longer in my possession so I don't have anything more to
contribute to this. Sorry.

Ah yes, one more point: After installing Jaunty, I also switched the
file system from ext3 to (not yet default) ext4. However, I guess this
has no relevance to this bug.

It seems like I am hit by the same bug. Am running an updated Ubuntu
Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS on this production machine. Hence I cannot install

After resuming from suspend to ram I get the following errors:

I am now using Intrepid Alpha 6 with all updates up to September 28th.
Resuming from sleep now just gives me a black screen (no cursor, no
kernel output, nothing). Fans are running but that's about it.

Hello,
I think I may be experiencing this or a similar bug. It's been
occurring on random occasions over the last few months when my Lenovo
3000 N100 laptop has been waking from Sleep under Hardy. I'm currently
running Hardy with the latest updates and it happened again this
morning.

Hi Draimus,
Thanks for testing and the update. I'm glad to hear things are a little
better. Could you take a look at the following wiki:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend . As outlined inthe
wiki, could you attach your dmeg output after a failed suspend/resume
cycle. Thanks.

My video issues were fixed in Alpha 3 and unfortunatly I have been
pretty busy, so I've tested using Alpha 4. Sleep now works, but only
once. I press the sleep button on the keyboard and the computer goes to
sleep. Pressing the power button brings it back to the desktop with no
visible complaint

Leann,
I grabbed the Hardy Alpha 2 today but unfortunately the live CD is
unbootable on my system. My system uses an nVidia card that does not
work with the nv driver (a bug was filed quite some time ago for this;
Bug #29975) and the Live CD's safe mode does not work unlike previous

Hi Draimus,
No worries if you want to hold off until Hardy Alpha2 is available.
I'll be sure to update this report when it is. Thanks!

Since this is a system I use for day to day stuff I can't really put on
Hardy without disrupting the pre-existing OS's. Sadly my motherboard
