I have an APC ES series (be550r model) UPS.
I plugged it in and it just worked with Hardy (good work by the way...
very nice and impressive).
However, going to system->preferences->power management and then going
to the "on UPS power
I installed xserver-xorg-video-ati_6.8.0-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
from there and then rebooted, and tried to start tremulous, and it still
crashes X.

this is with xorg-server 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12ubuntu8 as you can see in the
log, same xorg.conf as before
how do I know which log to attach though, like I have Xorg.0.log.old and
Xorg.9.log.old? Assuming this is the correct one because of when it was
last modified (right when it crashed).

patch included in the official one that was causing EXA trouble for me.

I agree, to properly fix the problem it will probably require a good
deal of work (I don't know, but I am assuming, I would have to know more
about the whole indirect thing, is it a driver problem that things have
to be done indirectly, or hardware?). But for now, could a simple patch
against gnome
I think Travis just needs to double check his grammer (I think that is what the

I am using EXA (will post my xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log and such) and
using the unpatched server (bug 126425). Changing from the old 6.6.193
to the new 6.7.191 driver and nothing else causes compiz to be dead
slow. skimming thru the
according to bug 119052 the module will then be autoloaded, it works
fine after you load that module. therefore, fix released and will be in
gutsy+1 (which will have the autoloading thinkpad module in the kernel
that will be in gutsy+1).

as requested, video does work in gmplayer with the opengl method (restarted it

Tried it, still no luck... Interesting thing though, if I open a video from
youtube in a background tab, it will play just fine (I can hear the audio and
everything) once I click on the tab to see it, it stops.
Another thing to note, i left my computer for about 2 hours, when I came back,

Using a 32 bit system. If it works for you, it must be something I am doing
wrong, however, I really don't see what I am doing wrong.
1. Went to youtube.com and opened a video
2. it did not play as expected
3. uninstalled gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg AND gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly to see if
easy-codec-i
mozilla-plugin-gnash (to provide support in my mozilla based browser, and
nonfree flash is uninstalled)

I had both gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg (video codecs for youtube) and
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly (audio codec for youtube) installed, and youtube
would not play, just totally blank, plays audio for a second

Well, I just installed beagle (used to use tracker, but tracker was not finding
all my files [eg, wanted to find some files with the title Stone Temple Pilots
in the actual file name, searching for Stone found nothing, but searching for

20070605-0ubuntu1 is the version that causes the break. only a hard
reset fixes it. Thus not the same as bug 116927. Was going to try to
post my xorg.0.log for bug 119032 when I saw this update, but until this
bug gets resolved, that bug I guess will have to wait. Nothing
depends on bug 119119 getting fixed before I can go ahead and post
those.
