Tested disk(crucial M4 SSD 128GB) using "partition magic" and found nothing
wrong.
I've reinstalled ubuntu using and identical disk and so far everything works so
closing bug.

Confirmed, and marked as confirmed.
This is critical for people that need SSL on their servers.
Of course there are other ways to generate ssl cert files, but this is by far
the easiest.

OK, I am going crazy today. Sorry for all the comments.
The bug is still open, and the dbus plugin is included in the main gaim package.
However, I cannot consistently reproduce this bug.
It seems be affected by the gnome-session, because it only happens when I
choose certain sessions from the GDM
Closed it, realized it was an extra plugin I had installed.

I don't think he has to disable the driver. He can just uncomment line
48 of /usr/bin/soffice like so:
