Never seen it with plasma 4, but now I keep having it on my laptop with
plasma 5.
Anything I could try out to fix it?

This applet does not save it's global shortcuts.
To reproduce: Right click the applet, choose "configure global
shortcuts". Change it's shortcut from "ctrl + 1" to something different
(or set it to "none"). Now quit strigi-applet and restar
**Workaround:**
Edit your `~/.strigi/daemon.conf` and add these lines to your filter
section:
This will exclude all `*.m3u` files from being indexed.
