I can confirm this bug. Viewing systemd logs on my system showed the
weekly TRIM of /home stopped around the end of October 2019 as reported
by Jeffery.
This bug was filed upstream (https://github.com/karelzak/util-

It now seems fixed/almost fixed. The first PDF I tried (see below) took
a very long time between data being sent and a page coming out. Each
subsequent page also took some time and the last three didn't print at
all (duplex on). However I tried another PDF of similar size and it
printed quite quick
I haven't been able to test for a while (stayed with Feisty on main PC)
but will grab the Hardy beta and give it a shot now to see if it has
been resolved on the reported equipment (since it's mine).

I attempted to print with eog, but exactly the same problem was
exhibited, the printer received data but never printed. Switching
drivers again worked. It is beginning to look like OpenOffice is the odd
one out in that it WILL print.

Looking at the Debian bug report, the final comment (2 months old) seems
to indicate that Fedora use GCJ also, but don't experience the problem.
As suggested, it might not even be the fact that Debian/Ubuntu isn't
built with Sun's Java that causes the problem.

Can confirm too. It appears that the driver used has changed between
kernels, the legacy driver worked fine bar the Network Manager issue. We
are now getting the rt2x00 driver for rt2500 cards, and probably others,
have not found a way to connect yet.
