I just experienced the same issue on a similar machine (Asus 1015P) with the same ALC269VB chip on an up-to-date Natty and the suspend trick worked. What was disturbing though is that the issue had persisted for several reboots, modification of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, alsa force-reloads and a boot into Windows (where the speakers worked).
I'd be quite interested in tracking down what actually causes the issue and how it can be fixed but don't really know where to start given I had no success with the usual alsa configuration methods, including alsamixer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/697498 Title: [Realtek ALC269VB] No sound from internal speakers, but headphone jack works -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
