you can play the file. The stutter starts right in the beginning, right?

the tab if you tap it in the top right corner? On my firefox, the top

okay, I've found the problem. I've accidentally ticked a "show visual
system bell" and "flash the whole screen" in the sound-dialog under the
settings menu. Embarrassing. Thank you for your time.

Actually, it's the system-bell that causes the flashing. When I turned
off the notification in Evolution, the flashing stopped - even when I
recieved email.
The flashing also happens when my nick is highlighted on irc (xchat). I
have told it to use the system bell.
