Public bug reported:

Hi. I'm not Egdy.

Sometimes the screen (or rather, chunks of gtk-fields) flashes black for
a fifth of a second. It most often happens when I, for example, reaches
a en of file character in bash. Ie, when I press down or right from a
command-line in a gnome-terminal, or reaches the end of file in vim or
man. It also happens when I receive email in Evolution, and when I
move/delete the mail. Plus a bunch of other times which I haven't been
able to reproduce.

It started a while ago when I installed Tilda, but I don't think it's
too related since it keeps happening even after I shut it down.

Might be X or GTK-related.

     Importance: Undecided
