Whenever I go and modify the settings involving the Screen (Lock,
Display, etc), such as changing the amount of time before turning off
the display to 1 hour or disabling the screen lock (in GNOME Control
Center, of course), the entire UI behaves like the attached
screenshot..

Upon logging in to an 11.10 installation on a desktop with an Intel
integrated graphics card after the Beta update, I get a black screen and
end up having to use Unity 2D instead of the Compiz-based Unity.
ProblemType: Bug

The problem, however, is that Bug 797078 is (1) in Metacity, and (2)
definitely not because of trying to disable or enable Compiz plugins...
