Ran "ifconfig wlan0 up" in a VT (instead of in a GUI terminal emulator), and came across the following debug information before the SIOCSIFFLAGS case in the title:
[ 757.476021] phy0 -> rt2800_wait_wpdma_ready: Error -- WPDMA TX/RX busy [0x00000062] [ 757.076020] phy0 -> rt2800_wait_wpdma_ready: Error -- WPDMA TX/RX busy [0x00000062] [ 759.076090] phy0 -> rt2800pci_set_device_dtate: Error -- Device failed to enter state 4 (-5) There's just one problem, as ifconfig -a points out: Both the TX and RX bytes are listed at 0 and 0, so something's a little fishy here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132360 Title: rt2800pci ([1814:0601]/[1737:0067]): "ifconfig wlan0 up" returns "SIOCSIFFLAGS: Input/output error" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1132360/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
