Here's a fragment of kdm.log from an earlier session where the same

Seeing the same - but later: if I run xrandr when logged in. I have a

Forgot to add: if I go systemsettings -> Appearance -> Gtk styles and fonts,
and select
GTK styles -> Use another style -> Qt (instead of Qt4), then adding the
extension does not crash firefox and proceeds normally.

Applying KDE style to GTK applications causes them to crash when interacting
Similar case here. I experienced the same when trying to add an
extension - e.g. if I try to add greasemonkey, I click the "add to
firefox..." button on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-

firefox closes.

Ok, on *another* machine, I *do* still have the same problem. Seems to
be the same thing that Kevin has. I saw that it references xterm.c so I
(foolishly) thought it might have something to do with the TERM
environment variable and also got a backtrace with

Hmm... it looks like for me it was simply a matter of having a bad

At one point I installed emacs-snapshot version 1:20080228-2~gutsy from

Was bitten by this too - or something very similar at least.
If I start emacs-snapshot -Q, then M-x customize-face, default, set font-family
to unknown-inconsolata, it would work as long as I don't complete anything.
But completing anything would trigger it: e.g., C-x C-f, hit TAB after the "~/".
Will try sometime next week.

instead of the ubuntu version 2.4.)
