Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xbase-clients
Hi, In the latest edgy as of Sep 29 2006, I get the following: % xfontsel Warning: Unable to load any usable ISO8859 font Error: Aborting: no font found % and similarly for lots of oldish x clients such as xmessage; as in, anything not using fontconfig or similar. Since it looks a lot like Debian bug 368732 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=368732), and that recommends installing xfs as a workaround, I tried that and it works. (This is also where I got the idea to make this an xbase-clients bug. Not sure if that's really where the problems are.)
